Time to Restore Advanced Gifts

We’re in the end zone this weekend (not just with the Seahawks – though, whoo-hoo! Redemption is nigh). This weekend is a big deal for us! It’s also our third birthday as a church– so we’re celebrating our Feast of New Beginnings.

On this milestone celebration, we’re making an intentional act of bringing our commitments to our two year giving initiative, TIME TO RESTORE. We’re three years in and we’re looking at the next two years with a two fold vision: Restoring a People and a Place. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to begin TIME TO RESTORE with focus and intention on this Feast of New Beginnings.

We are hoping for 100% engagement! And we’re seeing it! We’re engaging God’s Word through the devotionals in our guides. Over 1700 hours have been volunteered repairing Mitchell. Thank you for how many of you are leaning in with Family Dinners and Practicing the Way’s practice of generosity.*

We announced Sunday that at the Advanced Commitment prayer night on January 25th we saw a significant move among 19 families that said – we’re in! Bullet points didn’t cut it to share the celebrations of that night with you. So hear more about the joy of that night here.

You’re invited to jump into the celebration this Sunday! Some helpful things to note:

  1. Sunday’s Feast IS our worship service. At 10am, we’ll meet in the gym at Cedar Heights for our worship service in the style and seating and rhythm of a three course feast.

  2. Sunday’s Feast is NOT a potluck! Kitsap House has this one covered: Starbucks (donated- thank you, Starbucks!) fruit, nuts, muffins (GF and gluten-full), and communion.

  3. Sunday’s Feast IS our commitment Sunday for this two-year initiative. We’re asking you to prayerfully consider engaging this two year vision by making a two year financial commitment with us. While I hope no one feels pressured to do so, it will be helpful to fill out a commitment card because our collective commitments will help us pace ministry and the restoration work at Mitchell House over the next two years. This video can help explain how to fill out a card. Parents, special note to remember to continue this conversation with your kids this week! We are being intentional to make sure everyone feels included in Sunday’s service, whether or not this is a commitment you’re feeling invited to make.

  4. Sunday’s Feast is NOT when we will need to bring our financial resources for TIME TO RESTORE. Many of us will need time to bring those gifts together, and so our first time of bringing our collective financial offering will be March 1, 2026 (and continuing for two years). All we are asking for is for the cards this Sunday to be placed on the tables where we will be sitting for feasting and worshipping this Sunday.

We have a two year financial goal of a collective $1.455 million for two purposes: sustaining ministry and financing a portion of the restoration of Mitchell House. The collective commitments made at Advanced Commitment Night have put us strongly on the way toward our financial goal and there is still a long way to go. We are really excited about coming together in celebration of God’s faithfulness in our past year and in commitment to our next two!

If you’re not able to come this Sunday, you can join us by committing online using this form. And SAVE THE DATE to toast to the next two years with us on March 1 after the worship service! We’ve reserved space at Yoked Brewery for the occasion.

This is just the beginning of an intentional season of restoration, and I am so joyful to be leaning in with you.

*Once we finish the generosity practice, we’ll be focusing on other aspects of Practicing the Way of Jesus in the months ahead. During Lent, we’ll be encouraging Family Dinners and Pattern groups to engage in the practice of Sabbath. We’ll also be inviting people to join the course, Practicing the Way in March!
