703 Kitsap Residency
We are all seeking our place, our people, and God’s presence. Let’s do it together.
Why you? Why now?
We believe in investing a year in residency at 703 because we want to root young adults in local communities and the faith. We recognize that the season of life when we're 18-30 is formative for our identity and purpose. We believe we can explore these best together by living under the same roof at 703 Kitsap St. while serving our neighbors in downtown Port Orchard.
What will it look like?
Following “a communal rule of life," we will find our:
PEOPLE - experience intergenerational friendships and build community with those you live with, and those you encounter in the neighborhoods you work, live and play in.
PLACE - invest in Port Orchard, find a place to call your own, know your neighbors, and
EXPERIENCE THE PRESENCE OF GOD - practice both communal and individual disciplines to grow closer to God and root your faith
This looks like:
Sharing life, eating, learning and praying with housemates, mentors and local faith leaders one night a week
Meeting with a mentor monthly
Worshiping with a local congregation
Practicing Sabbath* weekly
Participating in downtown Port Orchard life, such as supporting local business and attending events to support the city (i.e. farmers markets, downtown concerts, parades, etc.)
Sharing the responsibilities of living and caring for a shared ministry house, including keeping public areas clean and free of clutter
*"The Sabbath is a 24-hour hour time period set aside to stop, rest, delight, and worship. It is the best day of the week" (Practicing the Way, 2023).
