Where did April go?

April in my mind: the kitchen island overflowing with cough drops, vitamins, children’s motrin, kleenex, and so much school paperwork. Anyone else? Where did April go??

Let’s just review.

It began with Easter! The walls of Mitchell House became an art installation with Scott Erickson’s “Stations of the Cross.” The Commons at Cedar Heights Middle school filled with songs of worship.

The elders of Kitsap House set aside time to pray and plan the next year.

The hiking crew started back up.

The Mitchell crew kept on repairing and architectural work was finalized.

Kids filled up 703 for youth group and Kids Night In/Parents Night Out.

Young adults shared laughs and food.

Come the end of the month, Practicing the Way finished up

Cue Sarah McLachlan… “Don’t let your life pass you by.” That’s what I’m reminding my soul of this morning!

Continue to walk with Jesus. That’s the encouragement I want to bring us. Time flies. How are you going to live intentionally in the presence of Jesus?

Perhaps you’ll find some of our communal rhythms helpful to live more intentionally, to slow down, and to mark time.

  • 10:10 Everyday, many Kitsap House alarms go off. Many of us pray the Lord’s Prayer every day at 10:10 (chosen because of John 10:10). It catches me in the middle of a phone call, “ah yes, may your kingdom come and your will be done here.”

  • 10:00 Sunday, come and worship. Remember that you belong to a holy, messy family. You’re not alone. God is holding this world together.

  • May 29-30 Bible 101, begin or restart reading the Bible. We’ll give you the confidence to flip open a Bible and connect with God (and give you a Study Bible if you don’t have one!). Register for the Friday-Saturday seminar both for adults and elementary students grades 3-5.

It’s a new month. A new season. I can feel it. Come share life with God with us!
